Join SweetBird Productions for year 8 of SBSI!

SweetBird Summer Intensive is a 7-day DANCE Intensive that focuses on training, building technique, shaping & strengthening movement, cultivating artistry, creating bold choreography, making lifelong memories & so much more.

*SBSI25 offers major scholarship opportunities to other training & competitive events totaling over $10,000.

Training will include ballet, Broadway repertoire, hip hop, afro-caribbean, contemporary, theater jazz, contemporary ballet, improvisational techniques and more.

SBSI25 also offers specialty classes and opportunities throughout the week including (premiering new works, performance psychology, auditions, master teachers, physical therapy, nutrition for dancers, conditioning & resistance training, composition, talkbacks with industry professionals, a professional photo shoot, pizza party etc.)

This 7-day dance intensive will culminate with an onstage performance featuring original works from SBSI choreographers.

We are so excited to offer our SBSI students the option to stay on campus, at the University of Maryland, for this year’s SweetBird Summer Intensive! At SBSI25, we welcome our students to a safe environment away from home. Below you will find our information on housing, and as always, please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We are planning a full week of dance plus many specialty classes. We hope your dancer is as excited as we are! 



Housing Details
The University of Maryland
‍
Housing is available for all students 10-18. Students will have access to on campus amenities, as well as indoor and outdoor common areas. Your SBSI25 tuition includes a daily meal plan, which will cover breakfast, lunch and dinner on campus. Our live-in Housing staff are available to students and parents 24-hours a day, and they will assist the dancers with support and guidance at the dorms, dining hall and dance studios. SBSI staff members will provide an escort to/from the dorms to the dining hall & dance studios. Students will be accompanied by an SBSI staff member at all times. The resident group will meet and walk together to/from the studios.

FAQ

CHECK IN
Housing check-in will be on August 2. Students are only allowed to check in during a specific scheduled time to be determined.

‍CHECK OUT
Students must check out of the dorms before the SBSI25 performance. All belongings must be picked up. Housing students are required to coordinate a check out time and will be required to move out during that time.

‍DORMITORY
All students will be assigned to a double bedroom dormitory.

‍MEAL PLAN
Students will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner daily at the University’s dining hall. There will be an array of options, including vegetarian, dairy free, nut-free and gluten free dining.

PACKING LIST
Bedding: Twin sheets, pillow, comforter, etc.
Bathroom Toiletries
Cleaning supplies: disinfectant/sanitizing products, wipes, paper towels, trash bags, etc.
Storage: hangers, storage containers, laundry bags, etc.
Cell Phone (required): All housing students are required to have a phone with a United States phone number. International students may choose to purchase a “pay as you go” package or turn on their roaming feature.
